The procedure: Step 1
The surrounding healthy teeth that will serve as pillars are cut to create enough space to accommodate the bridge. After having digitized the pillar teeth, the dentist makes the bridge as well as the dental crowns that will be placed on the previously cut teeth. During the permanent bridge manufacturing period, we use a temporary bridge to protect exposed teeth and gums.
The procedure: Step 2
We install the permanent bridge and then cement it firmly to the abutment teeth thanks to the two crowns.
*It is important to know that patients who do not have healthy surrounding teeth can use dental implants to serve as solid pillars for a future bridge.

The advantages of the conventional bridge:
Conventional fixed bridges are composed of two parts, the central part (pontic), where are located the replacement teeth or teeth, as well as the two abutment teeth which are on each side of the space that the bridge must fill. Taking the form of dental crowns, the abutment teeth serve to anchor the bridge securely in place. Please note that there are other types of bridges with less invasive anchors, such as butterfly bridges.
The conventional bridge has several advantages for the patient:
– An aesthetic appearance that blends discreetly with the natural dentition
– Being cemented, the bridge holds securely in place
– Comfortable for the patient
– It lasts for many years when the bridge is well maintained
